Explain what digital citizenship means

Give some positive examples of digital citizenship

Digital Footprint / Digital Citizenship

A Digital Footprint is when you visit a website and the information from your computer is left on that website. It is usually a code for anything that uses internet, but it may be a name. So, if I were to go onto facebook, they would at least be able to have the number/ code. They might have the name of the owner or where the owner lives.

A Digital Citizen is someone who is kind to others that use the World Wide Web. A digital citizen is also someone who defends other people who aren't digital citizens.

For Example; If someone was on Facebook and/ or MySpace and they start chatting with someone that don't care for but they at least act like they're interested in the conversation, I think that would a somewhat good example of someone thats a Digital Citizen because they chose to be nice to this person and be a little interested in what they were talking about instead of bullying that person because they don't like them.

An Example of negative of digital citizenship is if someone was on, for example, MySpace and someone that they usually don't really talk to starts talking to them and the main person starts to bully them. That would be a negative example because that is not what digital citizenship is about and that is actually the opposite.

Assignment: DigiTeen Introduction

After reading some introductions from other students in the project:

1. Look at the rubric so that you will know how the introduction will be graded (advanced is worth the most points, beginning is worth the least points).
2. Write 5 - 10 (or more) sentences to introduce yourself.
3. Pay particular attention to correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation - this is SCHOOL WRITING, not TEXT writing.
